Convinced my wife to cut the cable, can't screw this up...

As the title says, I need to approach this correctly. Or, I'm doomed, haha. I've finally convinced her to cut the cord.

Here is my report: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3dc84f8b05823761

Single family home. Vinyl siding, typical asphalt roof shingles (2 layers). I'd like to mount the antenna in the attic (two story home so the attic is roughly 25 feet high or higher.)

I was recommended this antenna. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000EHWCDW/..._am_us?ie=UTF8

Thank you for your help. I'd like to get the Boston stations (352-354 degrees) but would like the Providence stations if possible.

A Simple reception situation.

Many Digital Tv stations/channels will be received.

Install a Winegard HD7696P antenna.

The attic Is Not a reception friendly environment and Never Will Be a reception friendly environment.

Yes it is Ok to start with the antenna in the attic.

If there are reception issues that are not correctable by turning or moving the location of the antenna in the attic.

Then install the antenna above the roof in such a manner that the roof and house do not block reception in the directions of , west , north west , north , north east , east.

Install a Winegard HD7696P antenna with - no preamplifier - aimed at about 358 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Here are some above the roof antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , if using the tripod mount use the 5 foot mount , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html if using the eave mount use the #4560 . , http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box or buy from ronard.

Here are places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com.
___________

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a simple common 3 way splitter.

__________

As always , trees and tree leaves do a real good job of , reflecting , reducing , blocking , Digital Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

It is best to install the HD7696P antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and house.

The Tv's Must channel scan for the Broadcast Tv Channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some Digital Tv's will automatic channel scan for cable Tv channels.

Go into the Tv setup menu and select , 'Air Channels' / 'Antenna Channels'.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.
