Question Can I use this antenna?

First, here is my TVFool report.
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...1349be1579cb99

I've got an old antenna setup on my roof that we haven't used since moving in, but since we've given up cable and have been doing OTA for awhile (with an indoor antenna), was wondering if it was worth trying to get this to work, or if it could work for our needs.

Here's a photo of the antenna:

Right now there's no coax attached, so would need to go up on the roof with ladder and attach a cable. Before I did that I wanted a little advice on whether it's worth trying. If not, I'll likely go with an attic mounted antenna like the HBU33, unless there's a better / cheaper alternative.

Thanks for your help.

If the terminals are not corroded, (FL salt air???) then give it a go! The lower antenna needs to be removed and recycled, but the upper antenna appears to be an all channel design which covers channels that are no longer used for OTA TV in your area (for now anyway) but it appears to also cover the UHF band which is where most of the signals are.

If it doesn't work out due to corrosion or broken parts, replace it with the HBU-33 or an RCA ANT-751 aimed at about 150° compass. If you mount outdoors, you should have a great selection of signals to choose from.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)

ALL questions and answers about Broadcast Tv Reception and More.

Above the roof install a ANT751 antenna aimed at about 155 degree magnetic compass.
Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Discard the 2 antennas that are up there now.

For 1 or 2 Tv's a amplifier is not required.

For 1 Tv use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's use a 2 way splitter.

For 3 or 4 Tv,s use a http://www.channelmasterstore.com CM3414 distribution amplifier.

It's taken me some time to reply, but wanted to thank both who replied to my question. I had been looking at the RCA, so may go with that one.
