Antenna selection help

Hello all, I'm a bit new to this but as far as I can tell I'm pretty sure I will require an outdoor antenna to catch even the channels that are in LOS. I'm in a single family 2 story home in a very flat area with some large hills in the way and not too far. A few trees close by on the SW side of the house. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Tvfool results:

Default settings

25 ft setting

40ft setting

Above the Peak of the Roof in such a manner that reception is not , obstructed , impeded , blocked , by the roof and building in the directions of , West and East.

Install a Winegard , HD7698P antenna aimed at about 270 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna.

--------

Here are some above the roof antenna mounts.

www.ronard.com/909911.html ,
The , ronard(911) , 5 foot tripod antenna mount.

The 10 foot tripod antenna mount.

The , ronard(4560) , eave antenna mount.

www.ronard.com/ychim.html
Measure around the chimney and use a , ronard(2212) , ronard(2218) , ronard(2224) .

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at , www.solidsignal.com , by typing , ronard(x) , in the solidsignal search box or buy from , www.ronard.com .

----------

Test reception without a antenna system amplifier.

After some time goes by , and you think that antenna system amplifier might help with the weaker signal strength Tv stations

that are in the Red Reception Zone of the Digital Current Plus Pending Applications Included Channel List of the Tvfool Channel List

then install a Winegard , LNA-100 'Boost' amplifier , before any splitters.

----

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a simple common 3 way splitter.

---------

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. .

www.solidsignal.com

www.amazon.com

www.winegarddirect.com

www.ronard.com

---------

As always, trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on broadcast Tv reception

Absorbing , Blocking , Reception ,

Multi-Path Reflecting signals bouncing around ,

and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

The Best Pratice is to install the HD7698P antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception.

-----

The Tv's Must Channel Scan for the , OTA= Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the , DTV Channels ~ Air Channels ~Antenna Channels , in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some digital Tv will Automatic channel scan for cable Tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable Tv channels.

Go into the Tv Setup Menu and select , DTV Channels ~ Air Channels ~ Antenna Channels .

Scan for channels.
