Need help with reception

Hi,

We are making the switch to OTA TV and need help on what we need to improve reception.

My TV signal results are here: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...46aeb16c6829af

I have a 40' tower that I can mount an antenna to.

We will have 3 TV's that I would like to hook into a solution for better reception.

We have tried a couple set top antenna's and returned them due to poor performance. I also made one similar to www.tvantennaplans.com with coat hangers, some 2x4 and a foil covered piece of plywood. It works better than the purchased ones, however it is still weak for some channels and we only get one channel using it in the ground floor room. It is quite ugly - my DIY skills.

There seem to be way too many antenna choices. Any advice on what and where to buy it one would be greatly appreciated.

The Tv/s Must Scan for the , OTA=Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some Digital Tv's will Automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

To keep Weather/Water out of outside connections.

Remove and Discard coax rubber weater boots.

The rubber weather boots take in and hold water inside , this is not good for connections.

Use coax that has the Compression type connectors on the ends of the coax , not the old crimp type connectors on the ends of the coax.

Wrap outside connections with , http://www.coaxseal.com.

Can also wrap the matching transformer with coax seal.

________________________

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative effect on Broadcast Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

The Best Practice is to install the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception.
