Antenna Reception in Los Angeles

I am sick of paying for Dish I need your help.

Here is the result of my location. I live in a hilly area north of LA, and I
have several questions below. I would appreciate any help.

1. Would I be able to get a strong reception?
2. How many channeles would I be able to get?
3. What is the best antenna to buy?
4. Any chance of getting Bravo TV and Food Channel?

First off, you will not get Bravo or the Food Channel over-the-air. PBS offers the Create sub-channel that has similar programming to the Food Network, however. Before going forward on antenna recommendations, take a look at your report. Notice that all the stations are listed at 1-edge or 2-edge paths, meaning that you are shadowed by at least one hill. Click on any of the stations listed in the table to pop up the path profile that shows this (you're at the very right end of the plot.)

You ran the report at the default 10 foot height. Try repeating using the "start MAPS" option. First, verify the marker is actually pointing at your location (you can drag it to the right spot). Then, change the antenna height value until the paths switch to "LOS" or you're beyond what you could possibly use. Make the radar plot and share that with us.

Based on your current report, you will need a large outdoor antenna, like the Winegard HD7698p to get reliable reception. You should be able to get all the channels down to KCBS, which is quite a lot. Most of the stations have sub-channels, so the total number of programs you will get is probably over 50. Good luck!
