suggestions for south park, pa

I will be moving into a new house soon and am exploring the option of having an outdoor antenna for the local channels. However, a local antenna installer I spoke with told me that my house was located in a valley with hills all around, and was not very optimistic that I would get decent reception of channels other than PBS. Any suggestions?

The reception situation looks Good so far.

The tvfool radar plot report you have posted has no antenna height feet above ground.

Do not delete the radar plot report plot you have posted.

And.

Make 3 more tvfool radar plot reports at , 10 feet , 25 feet , 40 feet , antenna heights above ground.

As you have done with the original radar plot report that you are not deleting , also use the Exact address to make the 3 more radar plot reports.

Also how many Tv's are/will be connected??

Looks good for reception of Many , OTA=Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels.

Above the roof install a Winegard HD7696P antenna with a Winegard HDP-269 preamp aimed at about 24 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Here are some above the roof antenna mounts.

http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , if using a tripod antenna mount use a 5 foot tripod antenna mount.

http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , if using a eave antenna mount use the #4560.

http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html.

http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box or buy from ronard.

thanks teleview!! would you suggest using rotating antenna to grab the ABC signals (#51, 102 degrees mag. N) too, or is 24 degree orientation okay to receive most signals?

There is also a Weak signal strength , WATE-TV Real UHF channel 22 ABC at 24 degree magnetic compass direction.

I suspect the WATE 22 will be received and even so there is the WATE at 102 degree magnetic compass direction that is medium strong signal strength and I suspect it will be received even though it is on the side of the antenna.

And I suspect that WTOV 9 NBC will also be received.

As always , the starting aim direction of a antenna is the --> starting aim direction.

The antenna aim can be adjusted to find the best reception.

Most digital Tv's have a signal strength meter.

Some Digital Tv's also have a signal Quality meter.

Most Tv reception situations are a compromise due to the Tv transmitter locations.

The situation is to get the antenna up and receiving so as to see what happens.

If worse comes to worse.

Then installing a antenna rotator Is Not channel surfing friendly , must wait for antenna to rotate , and their Will Be Domestic situations about the aim direction of the antenna.

->If<- , the word is ->if<- , ->not ->is<- and ->not ->will be<-.

->If<- worse comes to worse , a second antenna can be installed for better reception of the Tv stations to the , east and west.

The second antenna will not be connected to the first antenna system.

The situation is to get the first antenna system up and operating so as to see what the next move , if any , will happen.

As always the other advisors here at tvfool can present their recommendations for a complete and operating antenna system.
