Help with Antenna selection and mount location

I cut the cord. DSL on the way and other options to try soon.
I can hang an antenna in the attic (15-18 ft.) and run the cable down thru the wall to the crawl space to connect to house cables or go outside (20 ft) and run cable down the fascia and brick wall to crawl space.
What does my coverage look like? Which would give me enough good signals? There appears to be plenty available, many duplicates, but perhaps not because they appear to be all over the 360 degrees.
What do you think?

thanks...

Looks like a complicated reception situation , However is not complicated.

To make this reception situation Real Simple with Simple Antenna.

And receive , Many , many , many , many , Digital broadcast Tv stations/channels.

I recommend above the Peak of the Roof in a manner that reception Is Not Blocked by the Roof and House in all directions , install a ANT751 antenna aimed at about 115 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

The ANT751 comes with a J type antenna mount , easy to install.

The 115 aim direction is the Durham/Raleigh area.

And is a compromise aim direction for the Best Reception of Many Digital Tv stations/channels.

The ANT751 is a directional antenna that receives the best at the front and front angles to the antenna.

However being a small antenna means that the ANT751 is not all that directional and will also receive good at back angles and back of the antenna.

So this means that the Other Strong Digital Tv stations around the compass will also be received.

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter. No amplifier.

For 2 Tv's connected use a Channel Master CM3412 distribution amplifier.

For 3 or 4 Tv's connected use a Channel Master CM3414 distribution amplifier.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a good job of , reflecting , absorbing , blocking , Digital Tv Broadcast Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

It is best install the ANT751 at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and house.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the OTA= Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some Digital Tv's will automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Tv Setup Menu and select , 'Air Channels' / 'Antenna Channels'.
