Question Signal Analysis/Equipment Recommendation - Please Help

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...5b949199459278

I do not have an antenna now, so I'm both new here and new at this. If OTA is feasible for my location, I want to make sure I select the right equipment.

Attic is the best that I can do - I can't hang anything outside my home.

Thank you for your time.

Limiting yourself to an attic installation is going to result in less reception of available signals. It's a bit like buying an expensive camera and then trying to take pictures through dirty window glass, and in some cases, with the shades pulled and shutters closed.

If we were neighbors, you'd see a chimney, eve or tripod mounted 10' mast on my roof. I'd opt for a large combo antenna such as the Winegard HD7698P or Antennacraft HBU-54 or HBU-55.

Depending on the results I got, you may see me add a second antenna aimed at a second group of signals.

Aim 1 panel at about 230 degree magnetic compass direction.

Aim the 2nd panel at about 21 degree magnetic compass direction.

----------

---------

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on Broadcast Tv Reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and building.

The Best Practice is to install the antennas at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and building.
