Tower Info

Seems A station that broadcasts FOX in HD (K14BF-D) has went down as of yesterday 1/11/14. All I get is a message that says acquiring signal. Signal strength is 93 so I know its transmitting. Question is how do I find contact info to contact station owners or engineer to let them know its down?

That would be frustrating if it happened before the Seattle / New Orleans game was finished!

http://www.rabbitears.info/market.ph...=K14BF#station says that that translator carries KCPQ.
At the bottom of the home page for KCPQ, Q13 FOX, http://q13fox.com/:

KCPQ-TV
1813 Westlake Ave. N.
Seattle, WA 98109

Two web sites that will be found that have Practical and Useful information are , wikipedia and rabbitears.info .

http://www.rabbitears.info.

---------------------------------

Call the Tv station with a Real and Actual Phone and using a Real and Actual Voice have a Informational Exchange with Engineering Department so you can Learn Real and Actual Practical and Useful Information.

Using , e-mail , text , social jibber jabber web sites , will provide little to no useful information.

K14BF is not owned by KCPQ.

Per public FCC filings, K14BF-D is owned by Jumpoff Ridge, LLC; John Wallace is the managing member (probably a sole-member LLC) with a mailing address in Wallace, WA.

Hello bytor,

I feel you. Due to the storminess and wind, I've lost two of my signals this weekend - Idaho public TV and KLEW. Both are via translators.

A check of my antenna system (and unchanged reception quality of K40EE) reveals everything to be fine so the problems are at the transmission site(s).

Locally, bad weather takes down K43GZ often, the signal stays up, however just a black screen and "signal lost" are displayed. It returns after things settle down.

This seems to highlight the sensitive world of translators. Unlike primary signals, you have a whole additional chain a rebroadcast signal must pass through and things that can go wrong.

Contacting KCPQ and the translator manager is all you can do, as you have done. In the worst case scenarios it may take an onsite visit (in winter ) by an engineer to fix.
