Tv Antennas and Reception

Here is the owners manual , http://www.managemylife.com/manuals/...M/engPC5RV.pdf , does not say any thing about a digital Tv tuner. I recommend call and e-mail LG. If the Tv does need a external digital ATSC tuner then here are the best ones. Some of these boxes have HDMI output and some do not. The LG tv has HDMI input , but need not use the HDMI. HDMI is the highest quality picture but you do not have to use it. http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=380 Component video will also produce a high quality picture.

Thanks to JC for finding an electronic copy of the manual.

Page 75 of the manual: "PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS"

States: "Television System - NTSC"

Reference to ATSC is missing, therefor it is safe to assume that there is no ATSC tuner in that model. An external ATSC (digital) tuner will be needed. JC's post covers that.

FWIW: Channel Master is offering a DVR with HDMI interface, CM-7000PAL. SolidSignal.com is advertising the CM7001 for pre-order

My apologies, I did not recognize this as a continuation of your first thread 1482.

Let's discuss your reception separate from your family's. I'll respond in the first thread.
