Help getting reception in North County San Diego

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...0b86efd087cbe9

I have recently canceled Dish subscription and replaced with a AntennaCraft HBU22 hoping to capture local LA HD reception. Based on above signal distribution, I pointed the antenna to the 314* and was able to pick up a few LA local stations with pixelations at times of day. I was hoping to be able to pick up KCAL9 for Lakers games when they are playing on the road. I briefly saw this channel during antenna mast installed and then now it doesn't matter what I did and where I attempted to point the antenna to, I could no longer see KCAL9.

I have the antenna hooked up directly to the HDTV with about 35 feet coax cable without distribution amp whatsoever. Your professional advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time...

Make a tvfool radar report with the antenna at 25 feet antenna height.

The HBU-22 is marginal for the weakish signal of KCAL. You can try to add a preamp, or if that doesn't work, you'll want an antenna with more gain, such as the Y10-7-13.

Tv antennas and Tv reception

For reliable reception with one tv antenna , of the tv stations channels to the north west , Install a Winegard HD7698P antenna with a Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp aimed at about 325 degrees magnetic compass. Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. The HD7698P antenna will be mounted about 25 to 30 feet above the ground. Mounting a antenna above the roof of a one story house will get the antenna about 25 feet or so above ground. Here are some above roof antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com

Tv antennas and Tv reception

For reliable reception of , KFMB-TV 8 CBS and KGTV-DT 10 ABC at 169 degree magnetic compass , install a Winegard YA1713 antenna with a Antennas direct CPA-19 preamp aimed at about 169 degree magnetic compass. Install the antenna at about 25 feet above ground. The antenna can be installed above the HD7698P antenna with about 3 feet separation. The two antenna systems will not be connected on to the same coax. The two antenna systems will have separate coax that goes to the location of the tv and the separate coaxes of the two antenna systems will be connected to a Radio Shack #15-1968 remote control A/B antenna switch and the output of the A/B antenna switch will be connected to the tv.
