Tv Antennas and Reception

For the best understanding of your reception situation , if you have a exact address then use that to make a radar map. If no exact address then go to the >>Start MAPS<< part of tvfool and move the pointer to your address and then click the button that says make radar map. The default antenna height is 10 feet. If the receiving antenna can be higher then 10 feet then put in a higher number , maybe 20 feet. Is this a , house , condo , apt. , mobile home , motor home , etc. .

You can use the Interactive TV Maps tool to locate your site accurately. An accurate prediction of your signal conditions will help us give your the best suggestions.

From the information you have provided so far, a 4-bay panel antenna such as the Antennas Direct DB-4, Antennacraft U4000, Channel Master CM-4221 or Winegard HD-4400 would provide coverage of the current and soon to come digital stations transmitting from the N. Vancouver area. If you desire to continue receiving the analog stations, a CM-3016 or 3018 would be an option to consider. (The antennas do not distinguish between analog and digital, but the many of analog stations operate on lower frequencies, therefor the suggestion for an antenna that will operate at the lower frequencies while also covering the UHF channels.)

If your actual location is obstructed by terrain, these antennas may not be correct for your situation. http://www.digitalhome.ca/ is another valuable resource to get the latest information re. the Canadian DTV transition.
