Reception Antenna advice needed with a tough report

Hi,

My report indicated multiple signals in the 30-50 miles range from 3 different points.

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...990061341e202f

Its a condo with a patio area and it a bit elevated relative to the rest of the complex. I'm not sure if I will be able to mount a large external antenna but it seems that it would be needed.

What are my chances of capturing 80% of these channels in very good quality? And what antenna would you recommend that would be somewhat discrete and easy to place? If its overly complicated to get good signal at my address I will be forced to get cable

Thanks in advance!

Do you have a patio or balcony to use? What directions can you aim toward without being blocked by your building or neighboring building?

Yup have a patio area, in regard to a clear direction without being blocked, I would have to check I think I should be clear of other buildings in the S/SW direction primarily. I'm on the lower level and the N/NE may require me to mount way atop the complex, or the antenna would need to transmit signal through the rest of the building since the patio is on the lower level around the back.

Tv Reception.

To receive all the networks , NBC , CBS , ABC , PBS , FOX , MyNetwork , The CW , Antenna Tv , This Tv , and more.

Here is the Federal Antenna Law that says Yes you can , Install , Use , Maintain , Tv antennas of any size above the roof so as to get reliable reception.

http://www.fcc.gov/mb/facts/otard.html.

Here are 2 antennas to try at your location.

The first one is the ANT751 antenna with a Antennas direct CPA-19 preamp , Above the roof , aimed at about 220 degree magnetic compass direction.

The ANT751 is not a very directional antenna , it does have some forward gain and also receives good in all directions.

I recommend try the ANT751 first.

The second one is , Above the roof install a Antennas Direct Clear Stream 2 Complete UHF/VHF Antenna with a Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp.

http://www.antennasdirect.com/store/...VHF-Combo.html.

Aimed at about 220 degree magnetic compass direction.

Remove the Reflector Screen from the CS2 Complete antenna and the CS2 Complete will receive Tv stations/channels to the , west , south west , south east , east.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

______________________________

For one Tv connection use no splitter.

For 2 Tv connections use a HFS-2D , 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a HFS-3D , 3 way splitter.

Buy the HFS splitters at , http://www.hollandelectronics.com , also at , http://www.solidsignal.com.
_______________

So that you understand , I will clearly state your reception situation.

The Tv signals at your location are Weak.

NO you can not hide the antenna.

NO you can not put the antenna in the attic.

As always trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions.

Yes the ANT751 or Clear Stream 2 Complete UHF/VHF Antenna need to be Up High and in the Clear for reception to the , west , south west , south east , east.

Yes it is Ok to use a indoor antenna such as the Trek HDTVa antenna inside the condo and what ever is received -> is what is received.

Start with the aiming direction at about 220 degree magnetic compass.

Here is how aim indoor antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

_____________

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.
