Kcop ch 13.3 reception issues
First, here's my tvfool report links:

Hi: I'm having reception issues with KCOP Ch. 13.3 in greater LA, "tiling" or "pixilation" every ten minutes or so with a loud audio pop and frame distortion once or twice an hour. None of their other channels has this issue on my TV (Fox owns 11.1, 11.2, 13.1 and 13.3). Good OTA Movie channel so it makes it difficult to enjoy watching it. This has been going on for at least six months now, worse on cable which carries the channel. I contacted KCOP 13 but they said I was the first one to report the issue and they haven't seen this problem at their offices in Los Angeles. I have a good OTA outside antenna set up at my location about 20 miles SE of Mt. Wilson. It seems like either an amplification issue with KCOP tower or perhaps interference from 2nd harmonics by two L.A.FM stations in the 107MHz range. I simply don't know. If anyone else has seen this issue, please chime in. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

It the exact same symptom is also present on the service provided by the cable company as it is with the antenna, you do not have an antenna reception issue that we can assist with.

Kcop ch 13.3 reception issues
Thanks ADTech for the reply. What's your best guess at what's going here?

Insufficient information.
Does this occur with only a single or with multiple sets in your home?
Are you ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE [emphasis added] that 13.3 is the only programming stream affected?

Kcop ch 13.3 reception issues
Thanks so much rabbit73 for the clarification on my FM report. I'll keep it in mind for future posts. And thanks for the forum links regarding similar issues in greater LA. Obviously, I'm not the only one experiencing problems. But things sure got more complicated for OTA TV viewing in our digital age. After much effort in erecting an optimal antenna for television at my location and the cost of smart TVs these days, it can sure try a hobbyist patience. Hopefully, KCOP techs will take another look at their set up on Mt. Wilson. Fingers crossed. Much appreciated rabbit73 for your kind help!

Kcop ch 13.3 reception issues
To answer your first question ADTech, only one TV set at my location. And second, I'm unable to monitor 24/7, but when I do watch I check often channels 11.1, 11.2, 13.1 and 13.3 (all of which are owned by Fox), and only 13.3 has the pixilation issues, which seems odd to me. I don't know if this has any relevance to my issue, but when I contacted KCOP they confirmed what I read about their transmitters on Mt. Wilson that 11.1 is broadcast on a separate tower from their other three channels. 11.2, 13.1 and 13.3 are streamed from another tower there. Any further thoughts you might have would be appreciated. Thanks again!

Kcop ch 13.3 reception issues
Update for your last question, ADTech. This evening around 7PM PST, I started watching Breakfast At Tiffanys on 13.3. In the first 15 minutes, the picture had an audio pop with full picture frame distortion twice and one pixilation across the center of the screen. I switched to monitoring channels 13.1, 11.2 and 11.1 for fifteen minutes each with no picture or audio issues at all. I think rabbit73 is probably right that it might be a network feed problem. But I simply don't know. As I mentioned in my first posting, I have been observing this issue for six months now. I'm a bit surprised that KCOP hasn't seen this issue. But again, what do I know??? Any further thoughts you might have would be appreciated or anyone else for that matter. Thanks!
