Need some advice

I have been doing some research on getting rid of satellite and going with an antenna. Based on my report, it looks like I should have no problem picking up my local channels. But choosing an antenna can certainly get confusing and difficult for those that don't understand all the info on the reports. I was looking at either the RCA ANT751 or one of the 4 bay bowtie antennas like the Antennas Direct DB4E. Mount location would be on my roof. Any suggestions??? Do I need a preamp? Looking to split this feed to go to 2 TVs. Thanks in advance.

A Simple Reception situation.

For reception of the Local Digital Broadcast Tv Stations/Channels.

Install a , http://www.antennacraft.net.

HBU11K antenna Above The Peak of the Roof in such a manner that the roof and building are not , obstructing , impeding , blocking , reception in the directions of , North East , South , South West.

Aim the HBU11K antenna at about , 190 degree magnetic compass direction.

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna.

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a 2 way splitter.

As Always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on Broadcast Tv Reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and building.

Some and not all Negative Effects are.

Absorbing , Blocking , Reception.

Multi-Path Reflecting Tv Signals Bouncing All Around.

The Best Practice is to install the HBU11K antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception.

The Tv's Must Channel Scan for the , OTA=Over The Air , ATSC-Digital Broadcast Tv Stations/Channels , often named the ~ DTV Channels ~ Antenna Channels ~ Air Channels ~ in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some digital tv's will Automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

And Do Not channel scan for only , Analog Tv channels.

Go into the Digital Tv Setup Menu and select ~ DTV Channels ~ Antenna Channels ~ Air Channels ~.

Scan for the , ATSC-Digital Broadcast Tv Stations/Channels.

I'm very impressed with my DB4e, but it's a UHF only antenna, intended to cover real channels 14 through 51.

The ANT-751 and televiews suggestion of the HBU-11 fit your application far better because they have coverage for real channels 7 through 51.

The Antennas Direct C2V is yet another option that fits your situation.

is there a big difference between the ANT 751 and HBU11K. The look to be the same to me.

Ok, my HBU11K was delivered today. I went ahead and assembled it but had some questions on pointing it. Above, it was stated that I should aim it at 190 degrees. I'm a little confused on this as my more critical channels seem to be in the other direction. My main channels that I am concerned about are CBS, FOX, and NBC. What heading should I point the antenna in for those 3 channels based on my report.
