My dad has switched back to OTA tv. He lives close to me, so a similar channel setup.

However, he currently has a ANT-7287 antenna, pointed roughly at 50-70* and about 20 feet in the air, with 75 feet of good coax to his TV.

Any suggestions if he should go with a pre-amp to get in more channels?
Currently he doesn't get a few of the channels that are in the yellow area for example.

Thanks!

Get the antenna Up in the air so reception is not impeded and blocked by the roof and building in the directions of , North East , East , North West , West.

Try aiming 1 panel at about 52 degree magnetic compass direction.

And the other panel at about 267 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Digital Tv Tuners can develop -Digital Glitches- that are not cleared out with simple channel scans.

Do Double Rescan.

How is the reception now??

It is a good idea to rescan from time to time because New Tv stations/channels can begin transmitting at any time with No advance notice.

Thank you Teleview.
We have it on a clear line of sight.
Gets 10.1, 14.1, 20.1, 59.1 and 69.1 clearly.
29.1 is intermittent.
The channels from Detroit come in on clear nights only.
Any suggestions if an amplifer/pre-amp would help?

Thank you!
