I'm in the process of trying to "cut-the-cord" from DirecTV and use a OTA HD antenna and Tivo combination.
I want to do this right, so I don't just want to buy some random antenna. I want to make sure I get the best reception that I can.
Here is my reception analysis:

Most of the channels that we would watch are in the green/yellow zone, and I believe most of them are broadcast from a group of antennas about 10 miles from my house. I would like to get some channels outside of this zone if possible. I have been leaning towards a Channel Master CM-3000HD antenna mounted in my attic.
Is there an antenna that would better meet my needs?
Thanks,
Steve

teleview...thanks so much for your recommendations. I'm confused about one thing. If most of my local channels are at 5 degrees (Magn), then why would I aim the antenna to 34 degrees? There aren't many channels in that direction.

WRPX-DT Real Digital Uhf channel 15 ION at 34 degree magnetic compass direction is Weak Signal Strength.
The other Digital Tv stations/channels , On Up the channel list are stronger signal strength.

Call me old school but I'm skeptical of antennas hidden away in plastic. To me that's a sign that they know they couldn't sell you on a thin film of aluminum for $50. That's not to say it won't work for you. At 10 miles LOS, it won't take much to tune those stations from the north.
