Suggest an Antenna - Rockville, MD

I got few indoors ones but I get drop in signal. I can put one on my roof but wanted to get suggestions from you guys.

Any suggestions for which antenna to opt? Any input/help is appreciated. I have absolutely no clue about these things so if you can point out muti direction or directional antenna with some input( pros/cons) and which cable to use then it will be a great help for me.

An outdoor antenna should be able to do quite well.

A Winegard HD7000R or RCA ANT-751 are both capable antennas in the conditions shown on your report. The 7000 will offer reception of the two analog signals on real CH-4 & CH-6. The 751 is more compact, and is designed for reception of real CH-7 & up.

RG-6 cable sold at the big box home centers is just fine.

The following is a Teleview recommendation for broadcast Tv reception.

Above the roof install a Winegard HD7000R antenna with no preamp , aimed at about 164 degree magnetic compass direction.

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a common simple 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a common simple 3 way splitter.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions.

It is best to locate the antenna at a place that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions in the directions of reception.

The Tv Must Channel Scan for the Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.
