Not receiving all channels

I currently have an ANT-751R mounted in the attic with a RCA TVPRAMP1R pre amp connected. It is pointed at the new york signals in the east direction. However I am not picking up all channels. I am having a tough time with the CW 11 and NBC 4 and was wondering why this might be.

So I am wondering why with this setup I cannot get all the major channels in order to cut the cord.

If your roof is standard shingles, there is no foil backed insulation and no large trees or buildings in the direction of your stations.

A little more antenna will do the job.

There are two channels to your East, WPOX 4, and WKOB 2. These are LP's with no major network affilation. If you want these channels you need a large all channel antenna. The Winegard 7015 should do the trick.

If you have no interest in these LP's a better choice would be the Winegard HD7697P. This is a fairly large High VHF/UHF antenna designed to recieve channels 7-51 and should enable your 'cut'.

I agree that a little more antenna may be what you need, though the ANT-751 would do much better if mounted outside.

Your location has receivable Digital Tv stations/channels in ALL the Tv channel bands.

VHF low band channels 2 thru 6.

VHF high band channels 7 thru 13.

UHF band channels 14 thru 51.

The HD7697P and ANT751 , they are designed to receive channels 7 thru 51.

For reception of ALL the channels.

Install a Winegard HD7082P All channel antenna Above the roof aimed at about 114 degree magnetic compass direction.

WNBC REAL UHF Digital channel 28 , virtual number (4.1) NBC.

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a Common simple 2 way splitter.

For 3 or 4 Tv's connected use a Channel Master CM3414 , distribution amplifier.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels" or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions.

It is best to locate the HD7082P antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions in the direction of reception.

These Tv digital Tv stations are Strong Signal Strength and will most likely be received by the HD7082P antenna even though the antenna is not aimed at them.

WNET-DT VHF channel 13 is at the front of the antenna and is also part of the same PBS.

And as for WNBC REAL UHF Digital channel 28 , it is transmitting on UHF 28.

The old Analog channel VHF channel 4 is no longer being transmitted , the number 4 is now a virtual number.

During the Analog to Digital transition of June 2009 , Many - but not all - Tv stations moved out of the VHF low band channels 2 thru 6 , to the higher band channels of 7 thru 51.

Thanks, would I need a preamp as well at this point or would I be covered with the HD HD7082p?

A preamp is not required.

For 1 Tv connection use no splitter or amplifier.

For 2 Tv,s connected use a common simple 2 way splitter and no amplifier.

For 3 or 4 Tv,s connected use a CM3414 distribution amplifier.

As @teleview mentioned already, try with no amplifier if connecting one or two sets. You should verify you have a clean signal before adding any amplifier... simply test with only one TV connected to the new antenna using a single piece of coax no longer than necessary to run temporarily from the antenna to the TV.

If connecting more sets, try your existing RCA preamp. if that fails to give good results, use a distribution amplifier as @teleview suggests, or alternate option is an Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp.

My recommendation should receive the Digital Tv stations/channels of the tvfool Digital Tv stations/channels list down to at least.

In the Green and Yellow reception zones.

WNYE-DT REAL Digital UHF channel 24 , virtual number (25.1) Independent Educational Network.

WNJJ in the Yellow reception zone is Licensed and Silent.

Below the Yellow reception zone is the Red reception zone , the Tv stations/channels are much weaker and more effected by the adjacent and co-channel interference issues , and are in more multipul directions.
