Requesting antenna suggestions

I believe we are dropping our cable and going with satellite. I will need an antenna to pick up locals. I really want to keep it indoors. The only problem I see is trying to pick up CBS which is out of Nashville.

Any help in choosing an antenna would be greatly appreciated. Im not sure CBS is an option or not with keeping the antenna inside.

ALL questions and answers about broadcast tv reception and More.

The following is a Teleview - Recommendation for Broadcast Tv Reception.

Here is a short list of the Digital Tv stations/channels of the south west group of Tv stations , NBC , CBS , ABC , PBS , FOX , CW , MyNetwork , This Tv , The COOL Tv , America One , ION Tv , The Country Network , Live Well Network.

What looks like is going to happen is , WTVF Digital low band channel 5 (CBS and THIS TV) is going to change to UHF Digital channel 25 , www.rabbitears.info/tvq.php?request=items&call=WTVF-DR.

And WMB will begin transmitting on Digital VHF low band channel 5 , http://transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/tv...0&facid=190683.

To cover all changes no matter which way changes go.

Above the roof install a Winegard HD7084P all channels antenna with a antennas direct CPA-19 preamp aimed at about 210 degree magnetic compass direction.

The HD7084P antenna receives all the Digital Tv channels.

VHF low band channels 2 thru 6.

VHF high band channels 7 thru 13.

UHF band channels 14 thru 51.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a , HFS-2D , 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a , HFS-3D , 3 way splitter.

Buy the HFS splitters at , http://www.hollandelectronics.com , or at , http://www.solidsignal.com.

Here are some above the roof antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.amazon.com.

As always trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions.

It is best to install the HD7084P antenna at a location where there is the least amount to no amount of obstructions in the directions of reception.

ALL questions and answers about broadcast tv reception and More.

The following is a Teleview - Recommendation for Broadcast Tv Reception.

The Local Digital Tv stations/channels , Are strong signal strength and will most likely be received by the HD7084P antenna even though the HD7084P is not aimed at them.

The following is a list of the locals.
WKYU-DT channel18 PBS
WKUT-LD Channel 25 Budd Broadcasting Inc. ??
WBKO-DT channel 13 ABC and FOX and Jewelry Tv and CW+.
WKGB-DT channel 48 PBS.
WPBM-CD channel 46 Family Net , Religion.
WNKY-DT channel 16 Local NBC and Local CBS.

If some locals are not received and you will like to receive them , install a ANT751 antenna above the roof aimed at about 368 degree magnetic compass direction.

Use no preamp with the ANT751.

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a common simple 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a common simple 3 way splitter.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

The 2 antennas Will Not be connected together on to 1 coax.

The 2 antennas Will Have Separate coax all the way to the Tv/s location where a Remote control A/B coax antenna switch will connect to the to separate coaxes and the hand held remote control will change antennas.

Thank you for the follow-up!

So with this setup, I should receive most of the Nashville stations and hopefully the locals here in town also?

I have a building out back and I'm thinking of mounting it on top of that and just running the cable to the house.

WTVF already switched to UHF 25 as their primary signal several weeks ago. WKUT-LD has been displaced and is not on the air at this time.

Based on conversations with numerous broadcasters that we have had, the odds of current full power UHF stations relocating to low-VHF is virtually nil.

Ain't going to happen since WTVF is still licensed on VHF although it's now a "translator" for UHF 25. Whatever that application might have been, it's DOA.

ALL questions and answers about broadcast tv reception and More.

The following is a Teleview recommendation for broadcast tv reception.

So if all of that is true , and WTVF keeps it's channel 5 licenses and WMB does not transmit on channel 5.

Does that mean that WTVF will continue to transmit on channel 5 ??

Or the WTVF channel 5 transmitter will be switched off ??

In any event , no matter what way it goes down , the Winegard HD7084P antenna receives all the Tv channels because it is a All Channel Antenna.

The following is a Teleview recommendation for broadscast Tv reception.

For reception of the locals only , above the roof install a ANT751 aimed at about 368 degree magnetic compass direction.

There was a time in the Analog Tv past when WTVF Analog Channel 5 was the only CBS Tv station at your location and surrounding area.

Many people are still living in the past and think this is still true.

Digital Tv is here , and CBS is now availiable at the local Digital Broadcast Tv transmitter.
