help selecting the right antenna(s)

I just built a cabin and have two directions that tv signals come from. Here is the link to my area chart.

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...1ddabbf7f19c1f

I have already ran rg6 to two locations in the cabin.
Neither are over 20 feet long. The antenna(s) will be above the roof line at about 30 ft. above ground level.
What would be my best setup ?
Thank you in advance for any advise you give.

Do you have trees to contend with?

Yes, at 30 ft. I clear the north to west tree line. To the east and south have at least 100 yards of trees, forest, to contend with. I am sitting on top of a hill.

If mounting at 30' clears the tops of the nearby trees, you've got an easy opportunity for reception.

I often see @teleview suggest an Antennas Direct C2-V less the rear reflector in this type of situation. I hope he'll weigh in with the details if he thinks that fits this case.

Another option would be an RCA ANT-751. Though it tends to be modestly directional, it's still capable of receiving from the rear. I would try aiming at both major groups of signals while setting it up, then go with the aim that offers the most of what you want to watch. I'd expect you'd settle on an aim point of either NW or SE.

If you have to shoot through trees, you may be forced to pick one group of stations or the other and run a larger high-gain/directional antenna. There are additional options if you need or want to consider them.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)

I recommend go for the groups of Digital Tv stations/channels to the , west north west and south east.

Install a Clear Stream 4 UHF antenna , with the Reflector Screens Removed , so the CS4 antenna UHF Tv channels 14 thru 51 Reception Loops , will receive both directions , at the front of the CS4 antenna and the back of the CS4 antenna.

Aim either side , front or back , at about 125 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.
________________

Also contact , http://www.antennasdirect.com , and buy the VHF channels 7 thru 13 -> Metal Reception Rods<-> Upgrade Kit.

And install the , VHF Reception Rods Upgrade Kit on to the CS4 antenna.
_______________

The Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels in the , Digital Pending Applications Included - Green and Yellow reception zones radar plot and channel list are , moderate to strong signal strength at your reception location.
_____________

A antenna system amplifier will most likely not be required.
_____________

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter.

_____________

The trees and tree leaves will most likely cause some signal reception problems of the Digital Broadcast Tv stations to the south east , the extent of the reception situations of the Tv stations to the south east will only be known when the antenna is Up In The Air receiving the Tv transmissions.

Clearing/having the antenna higher then the trees will lessen the reception problems/situations.

You have not said what antenna mounting you are using for the antenna.

Here are some antenna mounts that will get the antenna Up In The Air.

http://www.ronard.com/909911.html. Use the 5 foot tripod antenna mount with 7 foot mast.

http://www.ronard.com/Tripods%200703/4712.html.

http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html.

http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box or by from ronard.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. .

http://www.solidsignal.com.

http://www.amazon.com.

Here is , Lightweight Aluminum , Free Standing , No Guy Wires , Lay Over Towers.
Do all antenna installation and antenna adjustments Standing On The Ground.

http://www.palcoelectronics.com.

___________

As always , trees and and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , do a good job of , absorbing , multi-path/reflecting , blocking , OTA=Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv Reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

It is best to install the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some Digital Tv's will Automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Tv Setup Menu and select , 'Air Channels' / 'Antenna channels'.
