help with antenna choice

Hi, I'm wanting to cut the satellite out, but would like expert advice on choosing an antenna to receive the maximum channels for my location.
I would like to stay around the 50.00 range (thinking about RCA751).
I can get it either in the attic, or on the roof, using an old dish mount.
If you think there is say, a much better antenna that I would be able to receive more channels, I could up the budget some.

Thanks in advance !

My station list:

Looking at the Digital Current Plus Pending Applications Included tvfool radar plot and channel list.

For reception of the Digital Tv stations/channels in the Green and Yellow reception zones.

Above the peak of the roof in such a manner that the roof and building are not , obstructiong , impeding , blocking , reception in the directions of , South East , South , South West , West , North West.

Install a Winegard HD7696P antenna aimed at about 265 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas ,

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna.

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter. No antenna system amplifier.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter. No antenna system amplifier.

For 3 Tv's connected use a simple common 3 way splitter. No antenna system amolifier.

Here are some above the roof antenna mounts.
Use the 5 foot tripod antenna mount , ronard(911).
Use the , ronard(4560) eave antenna mount.
Measure around the chimney and use a , ronard(2212) , ronard(2218) , ronard(2224) , chimney antenna mount.

Buy thr ronard antenna mounts at , , or buy from ,

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. .

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on Broadcast Tv Reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

Negative Effects.

Multi-path/reflections bouncing all around.

Obstructing , impeding , blocking , reception.

The Best Pratice is to install the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and building.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the , OTA=Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the named the , 'Air Channels' ~ 'Antenna Channels' , in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some digital tv's will Automatic channel scan for cabe tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan foe cable tv channels.

Go into the Digital Tv Setup Menu and select , 'Air Channels' ~ 'Antenna Channels'.

Scan for channels.

Some satellite systems will accept and distribute Tv antenna reception and some satellite systems Will Not.

The Best Pratice is to Disconnect and Remove ALL satellite system passive and active componets such as and not limited to , mult-switches , multi-plexers , splitters , amplifirers , power injectors , power supplies , and etc. .

Yes is Ok to use the satellite syastem coaxes and othe coaxes that are in/on the building fo the antenna system.

If there is Any type or kind of cable tv deliverd service , be it , cable tv service , cable internet service , cable phone service , the cable delivered service Must Be on a Separate coax. Not connected to the antenna system coaxes.
