I want of get VHF and UHF stations.
I am surrounded by large trees.
I am able to mount 30+ feet.
Multi-directional.

Is the Winegard HD 7698P right for me? or is there a better option?

If you aim at the Huntsville stations, about 310° per your compass, yes, the HD7698P is a good choice. I think you'll also need a preamp such as the Winegard HDP-269 or the Antennas Direct CPA-19.

The HD7698P is a very directional antenna. If you want to see signals from other directions, a rotator would be needed.

I doubt that all of the Birmingham stations would be receivable.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
