How important is it to have antenna parallel to the earth?

My antenna mast is bent and as a result the antenna is tilted. It is a 3 inch pipe base that has tilted and a 2 inch pipe is welded to it Which is bent.. It is probably a few degrees off. How bad will this reduce reception? In its 30 foot height it is probably off by 1.5 to 2 foot at the top. (From the tilt and bend)

Thanks

PA. DTV reception

Being only a few degrees off will have little or no effect on reception of either your VHF or UHF channels.
