Another antenna recommendation, please!

I cut the cord about a year ago and have just been going with Netflix/HULU/DVDs... but I want to watch football games again on my TV!

Any thoughts on which antenna would work best / decent for me?

I made my own and it does ok if it's upstairs in the bonus room I can get 2 channels. All store bought set top ones give me maybe 1 sometimes and 0 the rest of the time.

We just moved to this house and it seems they had dish before so there's coax inside the house - I just need to figure out what to do!
I'd love something in the attic because hubby thinks an antenna would "look bad" - I just want cheap TV again.
THANKS!

I would not expect good performance with an attic antenna. You can try looking for a mounting location that would not be visible from the street.

I'd be considering a Winegard HD7694P antenna with an AP 8700 preamp. You would be picking up CBS on a UHF repeater, not channel 5; so a huge low band antenna is not necessary.

You do not have to hide Broadcast Tv antennas.

Here is the Federal Antenna Law that says Yes you can install a Broadcast Tv antenna of any size above the roof in such a manner so as to have Reliable Reception.

http://www.fcc.gov/mb/facts/otard.html.

_______________

All satellite system passive and active devices must be Disconnected and Removed , such as and not limited to , multi-switches , multi-plexers , splitters , couplers , amplifiers , power injectors , power supplies , and etc. .

YES the satellite system coaxes and other coaxes that are in/on the house can be used to distribute the antenna system reception.

_______________

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative effect on Broadcast Tv reception in the directions of reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house in the directions of reception.

The Best Practice is to install a Broadcast Tv antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and house.

_______________

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the , OTA=Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some digital tv's will Automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Digital Tv Setup Menu and select 'Air Channels' ~ 'Antenna Channels'.

Scan for channels.

_________________________

If any type or kind of cable tv dilevered service , be it , cable tv , cable internet , cable phone , services.

The cable delivered service Must Be on a Seperate Coax from the antenna system.

Do Not connect cable deliverd services and antenna system on to same coax.
