Coax line loss

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=90

Is this norm for coax line length differences?

Estimated coax length for bedroom TV is under 15'.
Est coax length for living room TV is under 45'

During sunlight of the day and viewing Channel 10.1 WKNO-PBS the bedroom TV maintains sufficient signal strength.
But the living room TV signal strength will ping back & forth 0-16-68, and channel is not viewable
At night time LR TV maintains great signal strength.

When I initially installed antenna during the winter and no leaves on the trees signal loss wasn't an issue. On a whim I tried a amplifier from Lowe's but didn't seem to help so I returned it.
Do I need to invest in another type of Line Amplifier?

I have 2 Sony TVs purchased the same day the only difference is screen size 46" & 40".
Antenna located in attic, Channel Master "8 Bow Tie".
2' coax line between antenna and splitter > 2 dedicated lines (15' & 45') to wall jacks > 2-3' cables from jacks to TV.

Smile Tv reception

The tvfool link is not working. . . Arkansas has Mountains , Hills , Low places , and Trees. Before answering the amplifier question and other questions , Please provide more information. Like location of receiving antenna , other then the attic.

I don't understand your attitude, teleview.

Tony, you are sure that you are talking about WKNO and not KTEJ? If so, then your results are not surprising at all. Note that the predicted noise margin (NM) is about 9 dB. Let's say the 8-bay has 12 dB gain for the frequencies of RF channel 29 (WKNO's actual broadcast channel). However, you are losing at least 12 dB of signal by being in the attic, so the noise margin is 9 + 12 - 12, or 9 dB, and this is optimistic. Under these reception conditions, you are right on the edge of reliable reception. The couple of dB additional loss between TVs exposes this.

A preamp will do you no good, as the noise it will add will equal the benefit of the cable loss your would eliminate. The best bet is to move the antenna outside if you want better results.

Hello Dave, Yes I'm definitely talking about "WKNO". I wish I could get my wife to come on board with my idea of erecting a 50' tower! Appreciate your cordial reply!
