Antenna selection help

Hello everyone,

I'm finally "cutting the cable" and trying to sift through all the antenna options. I was originally thinking about getting the Leaf antenna, but I'm learning that it just won't be enough. I'm in Snohomish, WA and did a signal analysis and it can be found here

Solidsignal.com recommended the Winegard HD 7696P. I've heard good things about the RCA ANT751R too. I'm not worried about getting every single channel, mostly just the ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS networks. The only VHF channels I'd really like to receive are KSTW and KCPQ on channels 11 and 13. Everything else is a bonus.

I can mount the antenna outside on the roof if necessary, but I'd like to try the attic for the sake of cosmetics--although functionality will be the ultimate deciding factor.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide,

Mike

Tv Reception.

A Teleview Recommendation for reception.

All Digital Tv stations/channels requested and many more will be received.

Install a Winegard HD7696P antenna above the roof aimed at about 180 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter or amplifier.

For 2 Tv's connected use a common simple 2 way splitter , no amplifier.

For 3 Tv's connected use a common simple 3 way splitter , no amplifier.

Here are some antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/9099011.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.amazon.com.

As always trees and tree leaves do real fine job of reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions in the direction of reception.

Mount the HD7696P antenna where there is the least amount or no amount of obstructions.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.
