help with reception

i was wandering if anybody could assest me in reception issues and the direction i could pick up the most channels.

Tv Antennas and Reception

As the other question askers do , Do This -->http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=4 . You will need to provide a tvfool radar chart , use your exact address and expected antenna height to make the radar chart. . Is this a , house , condo , apt. , mobile home , motor home , or etc. , If you will be suggesting indoor or attic reception , then if building construction is wood with wood or vinyl siding then that is usually Ok for Tv reception , however these building construction materials that are , metal , metal siding , insulation that is metal foil backed , concrete , bricks from ground to roof , metal roof , solar cells , can reduce or block Tv reception.

the height is 25ft i pick yup some stations at 77degrees but i would like to be able to pick up all at 193 degrees http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...9e746377699ff1

You may occasionally pick-up some or even all of those stations on the skip, but they are too far away for you to receive them on a regular basis.

No. You talking about stations that are over 114 miles from your antenna. The only way for you to receive them is for their signals to reflect from ionized layers of the Earth's atmosphere. When this happens, it is usually late at night or early in the morning. You may enjoy favorable atmospheric conditions while they last, but there is nothing that you can do to regularize these conditions.

Take a look at each of these model coverage maps for the stations that you want: KPTW, KCWY, KGWC, KTWO, and KFNB. You see not a bit of signal from any of the Casper stations reaching Gillette. No antenna can receive a signal that is not there.

You will not receive the Tv stations that are 193 degree magnetic compass.

For your reception situation , I recommend a Winegard HD7082P antenna with Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp mounted on a Channel Master CM9521A rotor. You will receive the stations in the , green , yellow and red. A antenna on a rotor works Ok for one Tv hook up . However does not work well for more then one Tv because conflict will happen over the direction the Tv antenna is pointed.

Well said.

I find the coverage maps useful at times (when looking for hill tops to go DX'ing on for example), but the TVFool Report for the individual location offers a more specific and more precise assessment of the situation.

Signals with predicted Noise Margins in the negative double digit range are simply out of reach in terms of reliable reception.

@ju2001, If you can afford a tower, TV Fool gives you the option to get a report based on antenna heights as high as 500'.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
