Help with new installation (stack/coupled?)

Hi, first of all I'd like to thank you in advance for your help with this, I sincerely appreciate your time.

The goal here is to do away with CTV at my mom's house while providing as much OTA programming as possible for live-in caretakers who help my mom--who is ill.

The height of the antenna on an existing (defunct) area service/light pole was entered at 25'--i guess i could go a little higher if it would help.

In looking at the report it seems that the antenna lies directly between two clusters of transmitters. I have heard that omnidirectional antennas might not be good, and am not sure about a rotating device--since more than one TV will be connected.

Also, there is an airport (ILM) approximately 7 miles SSE of the house.

Having said that, I have heard about a stacked? or coupled? installation of two different antennas--and didn't know if that would be a solution/possibility.

It seems that the stations in the "red" zone have multiple or side-band offerings vs. the ones that are in the "green".

Finally, i measured cable run distances, not sure if you need this, but anyway:

74' Antenna to splitter/head end (at 25')-This is not in place but I have leftover RG6 cable if that would work...
18' split to TV1, RG6
64' split to TV2, RG59
71' split to TV3, RG6
58' split to TV4, RG59

Again, any help is appreciated--because i have no idea what to do at this point, beyond the hunt and peck method...

The Simplest 1 antenna solution (no A/B antenna switches or antenna rotator) to receive the following list of OTA = Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels is install a Antennas Direct - Clear Stream 4 UHF Tv antenna aimed at about 260 degree magnetic compass direction.

These Digital Tv stations/channels in the Green reception zone are Very Strong Signal Strength.

The reception is Very Strong at your location , I think that No preamplifier or distribution amplifier is required.

Connect the CS4 antenna to a simple common 4 way splitter.

The correct way to do the coax wiring and connections is a coax goes out to the Tv locations from each output of the 4 way splitter.

(Chaining splitters one after the other , one splitter connected to an other splitter connected to an other splitter connected to an other splitter , the signal strength before the end and at the end of the chain of splitters will be Very Weak.)

If the coax wiring is a chain of splitters.

I recommend - install New coax wiring so a coax goes out to each Tv location

from the single 4 way splitter.

I am thinking the RG59 coax has been in place for a long time.

I recommend 'clean up' the coax wiring , use RG6.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a good job of , reflecting , reducing , blocking , Digital Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including the roof and house building.

It is best to install the CS4 UHF antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind including the roof and house building.

On the pole is a good location.

Or if you can install the antenna above the roof with a good shot at the transmitters to the , west , and WPXU-DT ION to the east , that will be Ok.

Yes ION will be received through the back of the CS4 antenna , the Signal strength at your location is very strong.

If the Signal strengths at the ends of the long runs of coax to the Tv locations is a little weak , then a Channel Master CM3414 distribution amplifier can be used in place of the 4 way splitter.

However give the 4 way splitter a opportunity first.

Do not install the CS2 antenna. And 4 way splitter.

Thanks Teleview for your help, i think i might go with your first suggestion--and if that doesn't do, I'll make changes later. In looking at the specs for the larger antenna, i couldn't find a wind rating, so I was a little concerned about that and the storms we have here.
