Radio Shack 15-321

I have a Radio Shack 15-321 that I used in the past. It says that it has a variable 33 db gain. I'm having a tough time understanding where that gain comes from. Does the entire 33 db come from the pole mount portion, or does a fixed amount come from the pole mount portion, and another variable amount come from the indoor section? Does anyone have the specs on this device?

Save yourself the trouble, just chuck it in the recycling bin.

It's two stage - mast mounted stage 1 with an indoor stage 2 that has a variable attenuator at its input.

I took your advice. I tried hooking it up at my parents house today on a 150 ft run, and the signal quality was better without it.
