Need Help Choosing Antenna

Hi, would like to start saying thank you to everyone for any help. I live in the south shore of Long Island NY zip code 11572. A very flat area and I am in a multistory house. Always lived with Cable, but looking to save some cash and get the major networks like FOX, ABC, NBC & CBS with an antenna and then the rest through the internet. here is the link TV Fool gave me for my address

Any suggestions for an antenna would be helpful. I would prefer one that I can install into my attic to avoid having to go on my roof and having an eyesore on the front of the house. Not sure if that is even possible or an indoor attic antenna's just never give good reception. I have read a lot of reviews for different ones and I am kind of confused about for where I am what kind of antenna I would need long range, medium range, multi directional or directional.

Yes, many people have had success making attic antenna installs work. It most depends on how much shielding is built-in to your attic's constructions (e.g., wire mesh, foil sheeting, re-bar in concrete, aluminum siding, metal roof, etc.). If you have a lightly shielded attic, then it should work just fine.

Your situation seems to be nice and easy because all the major networks can be picked up with a single antenna pointed at the Empire State Building. There's no need to fuss with signals coming from multiple directions.

For an attic installed antenna, I'd recommend either the Antennacraft HBU-33 or the Winegard HD7694P. You can use a short piece of mast going up from the floor or hanging from one of the joists above to mount the antenna. Keep the area around the antenna clear of other materials / obstacles, and aim the front of the antenna at compass heading 312 degrees.
