Loking for info on Cutting Cable for Antenna

Hi

I have been reading the forums for some time considering the move from Cable to an Antenna system. So I am looking for suggestions and comments on the best way to receive a decent signal with local channels. Here is the report for my site

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...4033d4db15b371

And I would ad that I am looking to hook up 2 tv's both are capable of HD one is on the second floor one on the first. I would be looking for something attached to the outside since the attic space is very restricted and no really high enough to mount anything of any real size less then 4 feet to the peak with sharp slopes for the cape. Also last two storms Irene and Halloween Ice storm cleared all the tall trees. Thank you in advance great reading the Forums.

Reliable reception of the local signals does not require a large antenna. In fact, you could opt for a simple non-amplified indoor antenna for each set and avoid cable runs and splitters. http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=2828

If you want to mount outdoors, any of the 7-69 or 7-51 antennas pointed about SSW will work well with no amplifier needed. (RCA ANT-751 up to Winegard HD7694P)

You could also opt for a larger system if you wanted more than just the local signals... more info if you're interested.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)

Tv antennas and Tv reception

Simple to install and use , receives tv stations all directions with one antenna. For a roof top antenna install a Winegard MS1000 and a Channel Master CM3412 distribution amplifier. Here are some antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html. Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.winegard.com , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com.

If I lived in Woburn, MA I'd install a UHF only aimed at Boston and a VHF only aimed at Providence. That would receive all the Boston stations plus CBS and FOX from Rhode Island.

UHF DB-2
VHF Y5-7-13
Combiner UVSJ

From your location it's possible to pick up stations from other directions, but it's probably not worth the effort or complexity.
