Help with FM splitter......

Id like to try and use my TV antenna also as a FM antenna for HD FM.

I read about a Winegard CA8800 band separator, but it is discontinued and out of stock. Any ideas for available alternatives?

An HLSJ would be perfect for your situation. The Lo port will connect to the FM receiver & the Hi port connects to the television.

What antenna(s) are you using?

Thanks....

So isn't that the same splitter for UHF/VHF?

I'm guessing FM is a similar freq range as VHF?

No, the HLSJ is a different beast. It is a diplexer, so the signal loss is much lower than a conventional splitter. (~.05db vs. ~3.5db)

A diplexer can be called a frequency-selective splitter/combiner.

If you have no low-VHF stations, then the HLSJ is a very logical choice.

FM radio signals are adjacent to VHF channel 6. Unless you have an all-channel antenna, your FM reception might not be good enough. However, most FM stations run tons of transmitter power and inefficient antennas are the norm as long as the incoming signal is strong enough at the antenna.
