Recommendations please

I would appreciate any advice regarding what kind/which antenna might be the best for my situation. I am a single mother with limited funds so 'trial and error' would be a little hard on my wallet!.

I live in Woodstock GA, a suburb N of Atlanta, within 30 miles of the major channels. I have a one story house; the back of the house faces SW, and the immediate area around the house has tall trees but not particularly densely packed. I am really only interested in the football channels, so FOX and NBC are the important channels for me.

I have only one TV which sits about 7 ft from an exterior wall. The incoming cable enters the house at exactly this point, 7ft from the TV. There is a cable connector (silver box where the incoming cable from the street attaches) right outside on the other side of the wall, so I would be able to connect the antenna in right there, assuming that you feel a rooftop mount would be the way to go.

Here is my TV fool report. Sorry for being so untechnical, but thanks in advance for any help you can give me

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative effect on , OTA=Over The Air , Broadcast Tv reception and so do buildings including your own roof and house and other obstructions.

The Best Practice is to install a Broadcast Tv receiving antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception.

The Tv Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some Digital Tv's will Automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Tv Setup Menu and select 'Air Channels' ~ 'Antenna Channels'.

Scan for 'Air Channels' ~ 'Antenna Channels'.

Just wanted to follow up and say Thank You. Although it took me a while to do it, I followed your recommendation of the Winegard 7084P and configuration, and finally got the antenna on the roof and connected yesterday. Absolutely no problems, and excellent reception on over 30 channels. I have spent this afternoon enjoying football with crystal clear picture.

Thank you so much.
Best regards
