Need attic antenna advice in Downingtown, PA

Hello,

I am looking to place an antenna in my attic. I live in an old Victorian home in Downingtown, PA and we have a steep, slate roof so rooftop installation is impractical. I only need the channels available in Philadelphia (the green and yellow in the following report). Can anyone help me with the type of antenna I would need and if attic placement would be sufficient?

Here is my report:

Thank you so much!

Short version: Select the largest all-channel antenna you can cram into your attic and have it pointed towards Roxborough. Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

Depending on the makeup of the slate, you may not want to get your reception hopes too high, w/ an attic installation.

An experienced roofing company should be able to competently scale the roof and mount an antenna, w/o damaging the slate.

Receive Broadcast Tv with a Tv antenna.

The Current Broadcast Tv Channels in the , USA , Canada , Mexico , are.

VHF low band channels 2 thru 6.

VHF high band channels 7 thru 13.

UHF band channels 14 thru 51.

Your location has Receivable channels in All 3 Tv Bands.

Many of the Receivable Tv stations/channels are weak signal strength.

I recommend a Large All Channel Antenna , a Winegard HD7084P antenna.

A Learning Experience is install a Winegard HD7084P ALL channel antenna in the attic.

In the attic , aim the HD7084P ALL channel antenna at about 96 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Install a Winegard LNA-100 'Boost' amplifier.

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. .

If some Tv stations/channels are not received reliably with the HD7084P antenna in the attic , try adjusting the aim direction and location of the HD7084P antenna in the attic.

If the attic reception is still not reliable.

Move and install the HD7084P ALL channel antenna Above The Roof in such a manner that the roof and and house are not blocking reception to the east at about 96 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

With the HD7084P ALL channel antenna above the roof , Test reception , without and with the LNA-100 amplifier.
