Best HDTV antenna for my attic in Westchester NY

Hi. I was hoping someone could make a recommendation for an antenna I can mount in my attic. Here is my TVfool info: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...99002230a52198. This would be a new install. There is no cables run yet and I would prefer not having to use an amp if possible. I was looking at the Winegard FV-HD30 and the HD1080. I also read about members using a mid-sized outdoor antenna in the attic with a little tweaking. The house is on a bit of a hill and the South / SE exposure is pretty clear and I am about 20 feet higher than my neighbors house in that same direction. I can see the tree tops from that side which points toward the city (NYC). This might be a separate topic, but that same neighbor has a ham radio station antenna cutting right through the middle of that view. Dont know if that might hinder my reception. Any info would be great. Thanks.

Tv Reception.

The tvfool report says the report is made to zip code only.

Based on the zip code only.

New York City is to the south west.

The groups of Tv stations are at about 240 degree magnetic compass (south west).

For reception in the attic , install a Winegard HD7084P , no amplifier , aimed at about 240 degree magnetic compass (south west).

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a 3 way splitter.

For coax , use standard RG-6 coax , quad shield RG-6 coax is not required.

Here are place to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.soldsignal.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.amazon.com.

The best way to find out if the ham radio is a situation or not is install the Tv antenna tune in the Tv channels and see what happens.

I say there will not be a issue or situation.

Thanks Teleview. Sounds like a plan. Do you think there might be an antenna slightly smaller as good or close to the Winegard? I have some space constraints in the attic. Thank you, again. your response was very helpful.
