The tvfool report shows a antenna height of 5 feet above ground.

Do not delete the 5 foot antenna height above ground report.

Some USA Tv stations might be received with higher antenna heights.

To see what higher antenna heights above ground will receive.

Please make and post 2 more tvfool reports.

25 feet above ground.

40 feet above ground.

______

Also the 5 foot tvfool report says.

Resolved to block level only.

Try and make the 25 and 40 foot reports using the Exact address.

For reception of the Canada Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels.

Above the Roof in such a manner that the roof and house are not impeding and blocking reception to the , West , North West , North East , East.

Install a Winegard HD7697P antenna aimed at about 70 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Here are some above the roof antenna mounts.

Use the 5 foot tripod antenna mount. ronard(911).

A antenna system amplifier is not required for Canada reception.

_______________________

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter.

The higher antenna height above 25 feet did not help with signal strength of USA Tv stations.

As a 'Test' , If you will like to try for reception of WICU-TV VHF channel 12 NBC.

Aim the antenna at about 142 degree magnetic compass direction.

For the Test have only 1 Tv connected , no splitters.

Digital Tv Tuners can develop - Digital Glitches - that are not cleared out with simple channel scans.

Do a Double Rescan , http://www.dtv.gov/rescan.html.

________

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the , OTA=Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting to the receiving antenna.

Some digital tv's will Automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

Do not channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Tv Setup Menu and select , 'Air Channels' ~ 'Antenna Channels'.

Scan for channels.

Would a pre-amp help at all for any of the other potential channels out there? If so, what should I look at?

I found in my basement (from the old owner) an SST-1-S4SF Drop Amplifier Signal Stretcher by Thomas & Betts, Augat.
It shows 5-42/53-1000MHz. Any idea what this is?

Thank you!

http://service.egg.com.tw/twoway/product/SST.pdf.

Looks like the amplifier gain is 15 dB. That is a low gain figure.

That is Ok because the Local Canada Tv stations are , 1.5 ~ 5.7 , miles away and strong to medium strong signal strength.

So a lower gain amplifier is Ok to use as a 'Test' amplifier.

The amplifier might help with reception of the USA , NBC Tv station.
