New TV Station in Atlanta

I was doing a channel scan today and was shocked to find out that there is a new TV station. I have no idea about its whereabouts, , but I do know that its virtual channel is 47-1 and the RF channel seems to be 51. This makes no sense, though, because WPXA (ION 14.1) transmits on 51, also, plus the signal strength is about the same as it is with the ION transmitter. It is possible that it transmits two separate stations on 51?

I have a few images to show what I see here in Kennesaw, Georgia (Atlanta NW, 20 miles from ATL towers)

There doesn't seem to be any tropospheric propagation, and my antenna is mounted in my attic pointed towards Atlanta at 128 degrees.I receive 51 out of the back of the antenna.

Looks more like someone that has a mis-configured Meld transmitter. Are you near (within several hundred yards) a convention center or other large facility that uses TV set's for customized commercials or information displays?

You are WPXA's protected contour, so there are no authorized TV stations that are new in your area. If you are able to determine a call sign, if any, that would identify if you have a tropospheric reception event.

RE: New TV Station in Atlanta

No, the closest commercial facility I live near to is probably a Subway .7 miles away. There is also something that I think is a center for electric power, because many power lines stem out of it. That is on the other side of a ~50 foot hill but has no television transmitters in it, and isn't a place where people go in and out regularly. I'll check at the top of the hour, because it does say ATLANTA on the bottom right corner of it.

Actually, right as soon as I posted that last post, they had an identification. It clearly identifies Telemundo Atlanta as 47.1

Okay.

WPXA just started carrying Telemundo as a sub-channel which PSIP identifies as 47.1.

Same old channel, additional delivery outlet.
