Antenna Selection

Now that my cottage is taken care of want to try OTA for my main home:

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...36167182778165

Would probably be mounting on an existing dish mount on the roof that is no longer in use. Using about 75 Feet of RG6 prior to 4 way splitter feeding 4 Tv's.

Are you only interested in the stations in your report that appear in the Green and/or Yellow color areas? Or do you wish to receive any of the signals in the Red area signal strength category?

Does your existing satellite mount have a clear view (LOS) to the stations at 320 degrees magnetic?

The green and yellow are fine. I checked titantv for the ones in red and they didn't list them. They must be some sort of low power independant ones. Yes I have good site to 320 degrees for the Chicago stations.

Thanks

If the stations at 320 magnetic are the only stations you need, I would recommend an RCA ANT751, this will easily mount to your sat pole. With the signal levels from these stations, you should need on pre-amp, however you may need to place a dirtribution amplifier ahead of the splitter. You can ground your coax with a 75 ohm ground block (ESD) near the entry point using a ground rod and a 12 guage solid copper wire, or inside where you can mount the ESD and run the 12 guage to the ground buss in your service panel. The antenna, and ground block are available at www.solidsignals.com

For reception that includes WOCK-CD channel 04 , http://americaone.com , install a Winegard HD7080P all channel antenna aimed at about 326 degree magnetic compass. Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. Here are some antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com. Buy the ronard mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box or buy from ronard. All the tv channels are , VHF low band 2 thru 6 , VHF high band 7 thru 13 , UHF 14 thru 69. The HD7080P is designed to receive all 3 television bands. . The ANT751 is small antenna that is designed to receive VHF high 7 thru 13 , UHF 14 thru 69 , but not VHF low 2 thru 6.

The HD7080 may be too much of a load on that sat pole. If you want channel 4 use the HD7080 and a stronger mount. A Ronard tri-pod will work. Also available at www.solidsignals.com
