Using a preamplifier that has three parts , Power Supply , Power Injector , Preamp Unit.
With the diode steered splitter in the attic , Or Any Where , and the , Preamp Power Supply and Power injector , located in the house and the preamp unit out closer to the antenna.
The diode steered splitter allows DC Power to flow through the Output of the splitter to the Input of the splitter and the DC power continues on to the preamp unit that is closer to the antenna.
The Power Supply and Power Injector are In The House where there is Power.
The diode does not allow the DC power to 'back feed' through the splitter.
The DC Power Flows to the preamp unit , and this is correct.

And if all parts of a preamplifier , Power Supply , Power Injector , Preamap unit , are connected before the input of the diode splitter , This Is Correct , because all parts are before the diode steered splitter , and no Power will be flowing through the diode splitter because all parts are before the diode steered splitter.
And the diode steered splitter prevents DC power from 'back feeding' through the diode steered splitter.
And if connecting a , 1 Piece Amplifier , that has all parts of the amplifier in 1 housing , This Is Correct , because if the amplifier is connected before the diode steered splitter or after the diode steered splitter , No requirement for DC Power to flow through the diode steered splitter because all part of amplifier are in 1 housing.
