All of the suggestions and ideas thus far, seem to be 'on track'.

1) A look at the signal conditions at the proposed mounting elevation would be quite helpful. A look at the higher heights cost's only the effort to run the report. Some Richmond signals are receivable... the additional reports will help answer this question with greater certainty.

2) The HD7698P is a valid option.

3) The combination of a 91XG and Y10713 is also quite valid. I lean this direction if it fits your budget.

4) A preamp is needed if you have more than 25' of coax or will split the signal. I favor the Antennas Direct CPA-18 for it's low noise, but other suggestions are also valid.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
