If we were next door neighbors, you'd see an Antennas Direct 91XG or DB8e above the peak of my roof, aimed at 11° per a compass. I'd also add an Antennacraft Y10713, pointed toward 327°. The two antennas would connect to the UHF and VHF ports of an RCA TVPRAMP1R preamplifier.

If I had a tall chimney available, I'd use a chimney strap kit and 10' chain-link fence top rail to support the antennas and preamp.

An attic install is unlikely to be successful. You need to avoid all obstructions if it's possible, taking safety into consideration.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
