Channels Dwindling

In northwestern Illinois I have an antenna in my attic which over the summer would provide up to 40 channels at night and early morning or during the proper weather conditions during the day. Over the last 2 months it went from 15 channels regularly after sundown and now no more than 9 channels day and night, no matter the time.

I'm using a Vizio HDTV 46 inch with a 36db signal boost. I've done everything regarding channel search protocol, antenna turning & while somewhat familiar with weather/tropospheric affects I'm at a loss to figure out why the channel availability became so low. I'm using an RCA digital flat square antenna in an upstairs window at times that does provide for 10 channels I don't normally get from the attic antenna.

The closest tv tower is 34 miles away and those signals haven't changed, they're good. Its the ones that are around 60 miles away that no longer come in like they used to. Are the cold temps to blame?
