Looking through the recommendations the U8000 keeps popping up. It is commonly recommended to drill out the rivets that hold the >< reflector rods in place to make the antenna capable of receiving signal from the front & the back.

Is there not an antenna that already does this, without having to mod an antenna? Or, is this just such a superior antenna that this mod is being recommended to take advantage of the U8000?
