Given your family's self imposed limitations, yes.

I would have no problem installing a tripod on a new roof... Just did less than two years ago as a matter of fact. New roofing materials are less likely to be brittle than older material so I have less concern about leaks. I'd also look at a ground mounted mast or tower, or, eave brackets... any reasonable option that would get the antenna(s) clear of trees would be on the table.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
