A tripod will give you maximum mounting height.

If you are strictly focused on reception of WXIN, the XG-91 remains the most reliable option. The Winegard HD769x series offers reception of the UHF channels as well as high-VHF (7 through 13)

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
