I went to a house to check out a cable Tv problem some years ago , the guy had connected the cable wire to the alarm system wiring. . He said the same thing you said , you would think there would be a way to do it. .. You can look up the technical reasons why the cable Tv/cable internet can not be directly connected to the antenna system with the simple setup at your house. . Is there a way to do it??
