Correct.
Tripods can support a 10' mast section with no guy wires. There are also self supporting masts available. etc.
There are a wide variety of mounting techniques / options. In the end, it's your home and the
FCC says you can mount an antenna of reasonable dimensions without your local government or neighbors interfering.
