Estimating you location based on the TVFR you posted, I took a look at the rabbitears.info data in the vicinity of Shooting Creek / Route 64 (In the Nantahala National Forest).

This study; https://rabbitears.info/searchmap.ph...study_id=64706 was based on theoretical access to a ridge top location after confirming very poor signal conditions down in the valley. As you can see in the report, it would only be reasonable to expect access to one or two PBS transmitters. Even if you have access to a ridge top for installation of an antenna, you then would face the challenge of relaying that signal to your desired viewing location. This is theoretically possible but I've yet to meet anyone who has put that much effort and money into such an endeavor.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
