GroundUrMast's point about the air traffic has me thinking that could be the problem. You are directly in the path of incoming aircraft when the winds are from the north, which they are right now.
I experience detrimental effects from Reagan Airport here & it always ends around 10 when traffic ceases. It affects VHF 11 & 13 with split second interruptions every few minutes, & it can be annoying.
